We Surround Them, The 912 Project
ByAs many of Glenn Beck‘s regular listeners alrady know, Glenn has been working on a project called, “We Surround Them”. The project was spawned by a caller into the Beck’s radio talk show. This was the start to an amazing coming together of friends, families, and even communities of people with the intention of letting that small group of extremist people who sit and punch away at the keyboards all day long know that they are indeed not the majority in this great nation.
Tonight, March 13, 2009 at 5 PM ET, Glenn’s show took off with an emotional and heart felt opening of him letting people know that he does have a soul after all (A little Glenn Beck pun there). As the show was filled with many emotional moments, it was for the most part filled with many details of why we should be proud enough to stand up and stand together to bring America back to the people for which this great nation was developed.
For the past couple of weeks there has been a great deal of talk about what tonight’s show would be about and the sharing of the many groups that were forming from all points of the country. You can see a map and details of all the different public gatherings at: http://wesurroundthemmap.com/. Probably the most famous of which was the nice gathering at the Chuck Norris ranch in Texas.
Shortly after the start of the show on the Fox News channel, Glenn announced the launch of a whole new website called The 912 Project which had it’s massive servers overloaded within minutes of his announcing the website. I have been checking repeatedly and as of this time, 11:21 PM ET, the site has still not recovered from the rush of visitors. This could be a strong indication of just how strong a viewership his show had tonight.

The main basis to the website was to provide people with a place to join together and to communicate with others of the same interest.
The 9 in the 912 stands for the 9 basic principles that America was founded around:
- America is Good.
- I believe in God and he is the Center of my life.
- I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
- The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
- If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
- I have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
- I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
- It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
- The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
The 12 in 912 symbolizes the 12 values that we as Americans should live by:
- Honesty
- Reverence
- Hope
- Thrift
- Humility
- Charity
- Sincerity
- Moderation
- Hard Work
- Courage
- Personal Responsibility
- Gratitude

I hope you had the chance or be damn sure to see the replay of Stephen Colbert's 10-31 project in honor or Mr Beck. You will bust a rib laughing. It was on tonight.

I really like how your education has shown you how to use the F-word, not just as a noun, pronoun,ex.All this time I thought it was use only by the small minds of the lower class, and mentaly unstable! spencersbuddy, your right in what you say but, acknowledging these "hacks" only gives them some measure fo validity. They love to exercise the freedom of speech but, I wonder what they will be saying when they no longer have that right!!
