When will WE have the next Nation Wide Tea Party Event
ByThere is a great deal of debating going on about what do we do next? The big question is when will we have the next nation wide Tea Party event?
The next officially scheduled event is for July 4th and the general consensus is that people are not wanting to wait this long for a nation wide Tea Party event. I felt it would be a good idea to put out a poll to see if we can’t come to terms on a definitive date. The two days I have chosen are the ones mentioned by others and are at about the halfway point of the April 15th event and the upcoming July 4th Tea Party event. I will run this poll for one week so we can give people a chance to make the necessary preparations to attend.
Place your vote today!
When should we have the next Nation Wide Tea Party Event?
- Let us wait until July 4th (28%, 51 Votes)
- May 25th Memorial Day to honor our troops (56%, 102 Votes)
- May 30th (16%, 30 Votes)

[...] When will WE have the next Nation Wide Tea Party Event [...]
First of all, I don't think we need to wait to the end of May for an event.. If someone can come up with something, why not do it locally… also, I see that many have picked the 25th, which I understand, but remember, the 30th is on a Saturday, and more people may be able to participate.. just a thought. But we absolultely can NOT wait till July 4th. Many people will be on vacation at that time.
Sally, This is why I have put this poll together. It is a given that we must maintain our efforts locally on a daily basis. That is an absolute must!
The big thing is that many of the major news groups kept this whole event under wraps until after the Tea Parties. I guess they felt it was ok to broadcast them after the events. What this has done, is to help get the word out to the many people who did not already know about the Tea Party events and therefore it has caused a whole new explosion of interested people. I know because they are hitting me with tons of email. The 25th is Memorial Day and is also a day that many people will be off work for the Holiday and a tea party event would be a great way to show our gratitude. Ultimately it is up to those voting as to what date we will be pushing for.
No matter what the finally tallies are for the pol, it is imperative that we do something between now and the 4th.
I don't think May 25th would be a good day to have a tea party.
As a Marine Veteran I think it would be dissrespectful to our fallen Hero's.
This is the one day a year that we honor them, and I think that is all that day should be about.
It could also be used (for that reson) by the media Negatively, and that is something that we don't want.
Just my thoughts
Friends,
If we share ideas, we can make ot a lot easier and with more success, my ideas are nothing more than a desire to help, they can be upgraded or changed but we need to come up with something to deter the euphoria created by Obama with the money of the Heinz, Kennedy’s, Hollywood, Soros, A-Corn, etc.. These are my ideas:
1.We need to have a Nation wide committee which would coordinate dates based on common sense of what the good and bad of the timing, meaning of the day, etc.
2.Neighborhood committees are simple even if there are 5 to 10 people present or simply share a public Tea Party at someone home, however we need to make it interesting rather than just proactive which becomes boring after a time or two, like have a little agenda to comment and share ideas of what is going on with the Gov, what damage is brought forward etc. We must have a reason to keep people listening and not just drinking tea.
(Continue next comment)—=——–
3. Share a video, somehow get a series of news for the monthly shortcomings of the Government to affirm our interest to continue the battle inn the form of a flyer, or someone receiving the weekly re-caps of the constant damage. We should receive the flyer from the National Committee to our computer, we can make 100 copies or more and just distribute for public information, to the neighborhood. If it is designed and written properly (funny but truthful), even with a cartoon or two, we can hand distribute it and people are more apt to read it on a Saturday morning than any other time. This is not about salesmanship, Democraps, Republicraps, Religion, Color, personal vendetta, just about America the Beautiful and Freedom
4. We can join a flea market, sell T-Shirts” and have tea bags given to people with the flyer and the news for the week. As the Fliers grows like this week with Obama Shaking hands with Chavez, and before Bow to the King.
Sorry about the long writing, we can put our Think Cap on and start getting something to present to Glenn or even do it ourselves but a central direction is key of continue success and attention.
I am also like to ask you what my “handle” should be, vote a) or b):
a)”TAX my AX” (I built a huge Cardboard AX for April 15)
b) “A Pitchfork Patriot”
all good ideas, especially the small local groups… Gosh, I know people are gonna get so tired of hearing me say that, but then again, I know how tired us folks in the small towns get tired of hearing ONLY about what is going on in large cities… it seems foreign and far away….
I agree with Paul.. I think it would be better if we showed our respect on the 25th by attending parades and services, then planned something for the 30th..
When you come on this site and you read all these wonderful ideas and see just how many people care, do you not realize what a miracle the founding of this country was and is? I am most sure that the Continental Congress had just as many voices, yet they came together as one. I am totally for some kind of giant recognition of our troops especially after this past week and the fiasco from the Department of Homeland Security. It makes me wonder though what else they have up their sleeve.
jcomesanas,
Some great ideas! I have no desire to be a leader, but wish to use my resources to help those wanting to take the lead. We do need a national committee set up. However, this will take some time to develop and narrow down leaders as this grass roots effort is still so young. I bring topics to your attention to create open debates so We The People can find better ways to build our efforts and continue to spread the word.
My vote is for 'A Pitchfork Patriot' – Stands out!
Paul,
You have a very good point. Please keep in mind that the dates I have put forth are not dates that I have chosen, rather they are dates picked out during a several hour debate on twitter where most everyone agreed that the 4th of July was too long to wait for another event. We also need to keep in mind that many of those wishing to get involved do not have excessive resources to be able to take a number of days off work or to be able to afford the added expenses of a large number of events. Many people already have Memorial Day off. I do understand your concerns and thank you for taking time to voice them. I would think that using this day to help bring back the things our fallen hero's have given their all for would honor them (Maybe my thinking is wrong). No matter what dates are chosen, the media will and already has given their negative slants.
I do want to pass along my sincere GRATITUDE for your service to this great nation!
Sally, I am also from a small town and even though there were closer events, my wife and I chose to drive 2 1/2 hrs. to Des Moines, IA to the Tea Party held at the state capitol building. We had a couple of events that were within an hour of our small town. I, too, get tired of hearing about what is going on in the large cities. The facts are that the cities will stand a better chance at producing a larger event and the larger it is the more the impact it will have. It is nice to keep our smaller communities quiet and peaceful. This is why we live where we do and are forced to travel some when wanting to partake in events.
Betsy, All of us should be PROUD of just how far this effort has come in such a short period of time. As to what they have up their sleeve? At the pace their terrible agendas have been moving, my guess is that we won't have to wait too long to find the answer. All the more reason to keep this fire burning and keep it on such a great and positive path. Thank you for taking the time to add your comment.
I agree that events in the big cities get more press… my husband did attend the Madison tea party, but because I was working a new job, I certainly couldn't take time off to go to Madison during working hours. Also, there are some people who WILL not drive to large cities for anything.. and with crime rates in Milwaukee and terrible traffic conditions on Madison, not to mention the cost of parking, it is understandable . The local paper here did comment on the madison tea party, but in Fort Atkinson, the newspaper ran a front page article… I think there is room and a need for events in large and small towns… as you say, the big city events get news coverage, and the smaller events get people to participate who otherwise might not.. they also get the word out to people who might not otherwise get the message, and encourage them to look further. We had so many people walk up to us and ask for info, and tender their support… so nice……
if we have anything on memorial day, I think it should be quiet and respectful…Just a large group standing by a parade or service with toned down signs that say something like … We don't believe our vets are terrorists… or something of that nature… just standing there in silence.. you know what they say about silence sometimes screaming
