If you did not have an opportunity to hear the televised speeches today in live time, you missed it. Dick Cheney had long before scheduled a speech to present today. Well POTUS decided he needed to do one, and as usual he was late. I believe he wanted to disrupt Mr. Cheney’s but to no avail. Just another POTUS failure to communicate.
Down to basics:
POTUS whined for the umpteenth time and committed the same lame blame game of shame on the previous administration. I equate this as a largely uninformed infomercial on repeat. Also on a side note he flubbed Gates name, someone he sees daily. hmm?
Whereas former Vice-President Cheney was clear, factual, patriotic, noble, bi-partisan and heroic. He detailed with certainty, a class speech, directly in opposition to all the ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ clamor of POTUS. No agenda, no fear mongering, no hate, just real facts. It felt right to be an American! With 8 years experience under his belt, he enlightened the U.S.A. He has nothing to prove and nothing to lose.
But for your own review please read the speeches yourself and make your own decision. First is the link to POTUS, then former Vice-President Cheney’s follows.

Both speeches really establish the men who gave them.

Dick Cheney is a supporter of torture and a war criminal. He would be well advised to remember anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law.

I find it hard to believe that the tactics used in Guantanamo are being bannered around as torture. My father who was a POW in Japan during WWII can tell you what torture REALLY is. In fact, any person who has been a victum of spousal abuse can tell you what torture is. My father held no anger for those who tortured him – war is war! I think it is time America places their focus on digging us out of the hole POTUS and his band of merrymen have thrown us into. On this Memorial week end bring the Red White and Blue into the hearts of those Americans who have forgotten why wars have been fought and won….and get the spotlight off of three terrorists who neither fought or died for their cause, but want to destroy our way of life. God Bless America and those who have kept us free.

Torture violates the Constitution's 8th Amendment prohibition of "cruel and unusual punishment," Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 118 of Federal Acts, the Geneva Conventions, and traditional American values.
Here is an interesting article on waterboarding some folks may want to read:
