We need a return to paper Ballots

By Randy Inman

I feel that it is time that we return our elections to a paper ballot to discourage voter fraud. Of course as conservatives we think of ACORN when voter fraud comes to mind, and with good reason. But the truth is that either side could hack or otherwise mess with electronic votes to influence the outcome.

A paper ballot election could be easily recounted when the results are in question. They would help keep organizations like ACORN in check, at least partly. Paper Ballot elections worked for many years and there is no reason to think they wouldn’t work now.

We should demand a return to that more accurate ability to count our votes. Any politician who is against this should be voted out of office. Our right to vote is the most important thing we have, followed shortly by Freedom of Speech. We should not allow the ability to hold fair and free elections to be kept from us, by either side of the aisle.

Randy,

We on the left have been calling for a return to paper ballots for years. I know its rare, but it looks like we agree on this issue.

Paper Ballots are fine, the problem is getting a fair and accurate count of votes.

Yes Rebel that can be a problem.

I like the way the Australians do it. Ballots are paper and they check a box with a pen indicating their choices, then the ballot is signed. Its simple and effective and its easy to recount the votes if necessary as well as verify their authenticity.

It is good that both sides can agree that we need fair elections.

How about video recorded paper ballot voting all turned in via live video. It’s awfully hard to lie on video. Oh yeah & mount cameras in all govt offices w/ realtime feeds. Hows
that for transparency!?
