I believe this generation takes everything for granted, including their freedoms, just like I did on 9-10-01.They dont understand that the more power you give government, the less freedom we will have. I am still in the 9-12 frame of mind and wish people could understand the saying"A country big enough to give you everything you need is strong enough to take everything you have."

Freedom?

Does that include the freedom from unwarranted search? Does it include the right to an attorney, the right to have a hearing in front of a judge? How about the right to remain silent? These are just some of the rights that were violated by conservative President GW Bush. Frankly, either you neocons are NOT the same folks that cheered Bush on in 2004 or you are the same folks who supported Bush's violation of the 4th Amendment, Title 50, Chapter 36…FISA law, the 3 year imprisonment of American citizen Jose Padilla — held incommunicado, denied access to an attorney, and denied a hearing on the charges against him, and the torture of prisoners in violation of Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 118 of Federal Acts. One thing is for sure…many conservative leaders, such as former Senator Frisk, former Congressman Tom Delay, former Senator Jim Talent, fomer Attorney General Gonzales, former Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, and former Speaker of the House Ginrich (just to name several), sure were cheering Bush on…as was Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and most of the other folks at Fox News…and they all claim to be conservatives.

So who are you folks?

Am I missing something? How do the two previous comments by vivian and news_across relate to the original entry, "The TARP Song"? I'm new here and perhaps need some gentle guidance.

cschaeff,

Most people who are involved just like to vent when and where they can and I, as the webmaster, have chosen to allow them to do so on whichever blog article they choose to do so. As to news_across, he's our liberal friend from Australia who does his best at getting conservatives stirred up and TRYING his hardest to set us straight, according to his liberal mindset.

Well csch…

I don't know about the first comment but the second one (mine) is a question about the author of the first coment's concept of freedom and what it includes in addition to how the Republican Party's attacks on civil rights and our Constitution between jan 2001 and jan 2009 relate to the term.
