A Proud Patriot To The End
Charlotte Ann Measel, June 15, 1935 – June 5, 2009
I did not know her long, I did not know her well. She gave it her all, as her obituary will show on our local Tea Party web site: http://bentonteaparty.ning.com/
I never knew of Charlotte’s early years, I met her on the National Tea Party Day April 15th, 2009. She was a trooper and held her sign high, and enjoyed the spirit of her family surrounding her that day. She also discovered a long lost portion of the family by sheer coincidence. The Tea Party organizer was her cousin.
Charlotte, a woman of many years, also claimed many commitments to the community. This past Thursday evening, June the 6th, there was a local meeting scheduled for discussion on the next Tea Party event. Charlotte and her husband Jerry were in attendance. Just before the meeting was due to end, Charlotte fell ill. There were medical professionals within the meeting and immediately they attended to her. An ambulance was summoned. She was taken to the hospital; but sadly Charlotte passed away the next day.
I went to her Visitation today. Many of her friends and family probably wondered who these extra visitors were, like me. She was a Patriot and her fellow Patriots wished to show her the respect that is due a real American Heroine! Charlotte will be missed by the many friends and family whose lives she touched. May God bless her soul.
