What’s the Deal on Cash for Clunkers AKA Car Allowance Rebate System
Posted by: | CommentsWhat’s the Deal on Cash for Clunkers? Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS).
Magic Government Dollars?
Someone else had reservations just 3 days ago http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1996192/cash_for_clunkers_program_2009_incentive.html?cat=3
The program officially just 6 days old was overreached last night July 30th. Now call me skeptical, but something is rotten and it’s not in Denmark……. I took a drive looking for new temporary license tags just here in Arkansas and looked at the lots that still exist. For the area I surveyed, I saw 5 clunkers traded in and marked same. I saw no new temporary tags on brand new more fuel efficient cars and I was out for over 4 hours around the state. So I got to thinking….
Let’s start with the original $ 1 billion funding source. Let’s say every car traded in received the full allotted $ 4500 credit. So that would mean 222,222 cars sold in 5 days. This averages 44,444 cars sold per day and averaging 888 per state each day. Why don’t I believe this? Where are all of the 222,222 clunkers right now? Could a scrap metal processor or salvage yard weigh in here and report if they have a significant increase of clunkers received or notified ready to pickup for destruction or new destinations?
And now Congress has apportioned off another $ 2 billion in funds for Cash for Clunkers, that may be used up within 10 days or less? http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25662.html
This program was in arrears within 5 days, can’t wait to see what will happen with Health Care?
Claire McCaskill’s Office Holds Town Hall on Health Care Bill
Posted by: | CommentsOn Monday July 27 2009 Senator Claire McCaskill’s office held a town hall meeting at Forest Park Community College in St. Louis with opposition to Health Care Reform being mentioned by a staff member when the Majority of those in attendance let them know they why they were there.
Would it be safe to say that local Tea Parties had something to do with the large group of concerned people being in attendance?
Watch the video below and see what the majority really thinks of President Barack Obama’s idea of Health Care Reform.

Iowa Congressman Steve King
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chris Chocola, President of The Club for Growth, the nation’s leading free-market advocacy organization with over 40,000 members, announced that Congressman Steve King has earned the annual Defender of Economic Freedom award. The award honors Members of Congress who have a strong voting record on economic growth issues.
“Congressman King is a champion of the pro-growth agenda,”
Chocola said.
“As 1 of 54 Congressional Members to earn this award, Congressman King has demonstrated a strong commitment to economic freedom and free-market principles.”
The award is based on certain votes in 2008 that the Club for Growth tracks on its scorecard, including cutting and limiting government spending, lowering taxes, expanding free trade, regulatory reform and deregulation. The study included a comprehensive examination of each lawmaker’s record on pro-growth policies and computed an Economic Growth Score on a scale of 0 to 100. A score of 100 indicates the highest support for pro-growth policies. Those lawmakers scoring 90 or higher receive the Defender of Economic Freedom award.
“I am grateful to receive this award from the Club for Growth,”
King said.
“The principles this award is based upon are the foundations of our nation’s economic strength and prosperity and key to the creation of more good-paying jobs.”
Rolyo, a Singer and Songwriter Patriot, Sings Remember Independence
Posted by: | CommentsI just came across another singer and songwriting patriot who has written a great new song called, Remember Independence. All this came my way via tweet updates on twitter last night with the content of the tweet talking about Rolyo writing a thank you song for talk show host Glenn Beck. If it’s anything like the other songs he has written, I’m sure his song about Glenn Beck will be great to listen to. I sense new bumper music coming to the show. Being a lover of great music I jumped right over to YouTube to check out his sample video of his latest song.
The song is about the latest in political wrong doings and constant lies against the freedoms of all Americans. Not only is he a great songwriter but he also writes on his blog at: Rolyo – Dreams and Thoughts of a Traveling Soul

6,900 Iowa Small Businesses Hit With Tax Hikes Under Liberal Health Plan

Steve King while Visiting a Farm
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Steve King (R-IA) today made the following statement about new research from the Heritage Foundation revealing that 6,900 Iowa small business owners will pay a 5.4 percent surtax under the liberal health care plan being debated in Congress. The Heritage study also states that the liberal plan will carry a $1.3 trillion price tag and will increase the tax burden of 2.04 million Americans, about half of them small business owners.
“Liberals have put forth a health care plan that will empower Washington bureaucrats to control our health care system. To pay for their plan, liberals are proposing more job-killing tax hikes – up to an additional 5.4 percent – on the engine of economic growth in America: small businesses.
“In Iowa and across America, many small business owners are doing all they can just to get by. Hard and smart working Iowa small business owners cannot afford these tax hikes. Iowa’s small businesses employ 668,226 people per year, and a number of these jobs will be lost if these tax hikes go through. Raising the taxes of small business owners will cost jobs and could result in some small businesses shutting their doors and closing their operations.
“Instead of destroying jobs and empowering Washington bureaucrats to control our health care system, I want to create new jobs and protect the relationship between patients and doctors. The liberal plan will decrease the quality of our health care, cost American jobs and raise our taxes to pay for more Washington spending.”
