This is truly a motto I live by. Whether managing a family, business, or myself. Before I make a request of a child, employee or myself; I tend to review possible outcomes and consequences.
This “inspect what you expect”, I feel is not occurring within our Government at any level. A case in point, the joys of paying increased taxes at uneven levels throughout the United States on just one product – Tobacco:
The NCSL wanted it and got it, but did it inspect the consequences? What did the NCSL expect? This increase of cost or value to the product, has created havoc with the public, by increasing incidents of burglary, damage to various properties, and worse.

Where are these additional taxes going?
Tip: Stimulus money doesn’t trickle down, unemployment at highest levels means less income, people are just scraping by to get their needs and they will get desperate sometimes for their wants. It’s human nature to survive, not the best, but it is what it is.
So to all the Government (State & Federal) Branches, Leaders, Departments, “We the People” are watching you. We are inspecting what we expect. If our expectations aren’t met, there’s the door – to the unemployment line next election day.

You are right …one of my family members has a mom/pop type store in Wichita, KS. We were talking on the phone the other day. They told me that a policeman had come into their small store earlier that day to personally warn them that home robberies and store robberies had gone up dramatically there, and to be on the alert. People apparently are desperate with being out of work and wanting money and goods.
