Baby Boomers Are Taking the Bam Out of O
ByBaby Boomers Are Taking the Bam Out of O
“Baby Boomers are confident, independent and self-reliant. This generation grew up in an era of reform and believe they can change the world. They questioned established authority systems and challenged the status quo. In the legal workplace, Baby Boomers are not afraid of confrontation and will not hesitate to challenge established practices.” As noted on http://legalcareers.about.com/od/practicetips/a/Babyboomers.htm
I have been at various events over the past several months and as I am a Baby Boomer, I see many others at the Tea Parties, Town Halls, & Rallies. By the way, we have not tired from confronting or challenging established practices or practices that are trying to be established. As we have aged and our responsibilities have lightened, we now have greater opportunities, time, and guts to question authority systems to better our children’s and grandchildren’s lives. We are the new system of “Checks and Balances” to this Democratic Administration.
Also noted on the above linked site, “Baby Boomers are extremely hardworking and motivated by position, perks and prestige. Baby Boomers relish long work weeks and define themselves by their professional accomplishments. Sine they sacrificed a great deal to get where they are in their career, this workaholic generation believes that Generation X and Generation Y should pay their dues and conform to a culture of overwork. Baby Boomers may criticize younger generations for a lack of work ethic and commitment to the workplace.”
Where they slack, we will attack-the issues.
So if you notice at your Town Hall, Rally, Tea Party, or Demonstration, the older Americans present and vociferously questioning political leaders, they are there because they care. They see what’s going on and what’s wrong with the establishment. Old habits die hard. Even when the youthful, duped Dogs are called out, we don’t back down. They’ll wake up one day soon and see the error of their brainwashing. The backlash may be more than the Democratic Administration will be able to handle.
Been there, done that. We don’t want to change the world, but we do want a resolution.

Yeah…
We boomers support our President and the Democrats, and we know who the greatest threat to peace is…we watched as you cons started not one but 2 foreign wars…one of which was based entirely on lies…lies to the American People and lies to the Congress. Yeah we know who the greatest threat to peace is…its you folks.
great…you can watch as the President & Democrats take away your healthcare…you can watch as you or a loved one waits for months for a doctor's appointment no matter how serious the health issue…you can watch as health care is rationed & the elderly are neglected. Hope you enjoy the view.
Uh…kim…
…none of those things exist in any of the health care bills.
News across sorry but Kim C is correct…get your head out of the sand and read read read the HR3200 bill…ignorance hurts us all.
har har hee hee haw haw
Is that there out of Bill Clintons handbook?
lollollol
Save it Kim. Someone is not interested in discussion only reciting rhetoric.
You are wrong. YOU may support the health care bill, WE boomers do not. Apparently you have no desire to be free. You seem to like being under the thumb, [ no I mean SHOE] of Gov. If this bill passes, you will be crushed, just like the rest of us.
Ok TRUTH….tell me then what everyone is so upset about? Why is it that 52% of Americans DON'T want this Healthcare insurance reform bill to pass? You seem to know so much-have you read the bill? I doubt it, I imagine your just another liberal offended by anyone who disagrees with you.
Relax Kim. I am only pointing out the obvious. news_across is a waste of breath.
He is a liar if he says none of that is in the bill. It is plain that people with things like CP will be turned away, and when we hit like 70 some 30 year old punk in a suit gets to have a say as to whether you are worth treating.
All N/A is, is someone who wants to get back, get what they deserve, take from those with real jobs. NA thinks that by giving people stuff you help them. No you just make them lazy.
I am on your side, as a matter of fact, my spouse and I may go to the 9/12 protest in DC.
Truth doesn't want it either. Sorry if you misread me.
NO PROBLEM, I just don't want mine or my husband's healthcare to change from his employer. From everything I've heard & read, under this new healthcare plan, premiums will go up so high we can't afford them or the majority of health insurance companies will go out of buisness OR companies will say "to heck" with providing insurance when employees can opt for the public plan. I just feel this gov't is trying to take over every aspect of our lives & it upsets me very much. Hope you can understand.
Great, please cite the page and paragraph and include the link so we can all read it.
Read page 1017 of the bill …you remind me of a big baby …oh yeah then show us well how the heck can you refute these statements if you havent even read the bill yourself it is online to read
I went to that page and it didn't say anything even remotely like the nonsense above…and where is your link to your source of your information?
To me it's common sense, why would employeers offer insurance to employees when they can opt for the "public option" & it costs the employer nothing. Seems our quality of care would suffer as well.
I don't believe this administration or any future administrations from either party would ever want to "ration" health care, or set up a "death panel". People are missing the point here, it's not about what is or isn't in the bill now, it's about setting up the dynamics for the government to be forced into tough decisions in the future when the money runs out. The way our government is spending money, and if you look at other government run programs, it's not a very big stretch of the imagination to see where this is likely to go. We are near the ceiling of national dept that we can accrue and Tim Geitner is already asking for that ceiling to be raised. I'm all for health care reform to try and lower the cost so more people can afford it, but I do not want a government run health care system that will ultimately force all other insurance providers out of the market.
Correct, and I think we all agree. Time to close the purse. People are tired of worrying about their jobs, and the government ruining the credibility of the dollar. When we saw Benedict Specter admit he knows nothing basically, he is after one thing, secure his place on a roster.
He's just a hack. He proved that when he saw the handwriting and jumped ship. Rats always do.
Frankly NA, we don't care about citing chapter and verse for people who have no idea what they support. What is known is the people "mr change" surrounds himself with . And frankly, someone needs to tell Gibbs, ummmmmmm is not a word. Mr o cronies are well documented in what they believe, in how they want payback, and in who is expendable. I will take my chances with people who own guns, and work for a living.
