Thousands Attend Atlanta, Americas Health Care Town Hall on August 15
ByYesterday’s “America’s Health Care Town Hall” in Atlanta, Georgia was a huge success with an estimated 12,000 in attendance.
The event was held at Centennial Olympic Park to hear various opponents and experts on the proposed health care reform. Their main focus was their concerns over a government takeover of the health care industry and the negative effects it will have on the World’s best medical services. Many leftist organizations continue to claim the US to be ranked 37th in the world which has been their popular talking point in their efforts for a nationalized system. If this were indeed the case then why is it that so many leaders, of other nations, choose to come to America for treatments of their health related issues?

WSB talk show host Herman Cain, who moderated a panel of health care solutions, described the citizen movement against the leading health care plan in Congress as “growing, growing, growing.” Cain said that Democrats holding town hall meetings across the nation are selling government-run health care, but they are not listening to their constituents. He said, “This has awakened a sleeping giant.”
When asked if he considered the grassroots movement a political movement, Cain replied, “No. It’s a new people’s movement.”
Joel Aaron, WGKA Radio personality, dispelled accusations by many major media sources and leftist groups that the tea parties were supported by right-wing special interests groups. I feel it is important to note that special interest groups have come to arms with a variety of television and newspaper ads opposing the currently proposed bills. However, it has little to do with the tea party movement itself. Mary Beth Martin, national coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, stated that she would have been happy to had lots of money given to help organize the grassroots movement. She said that the Tea Party movement was, “funded by people like you.”
To date, the movement has exploded in it’s numbers and continues to grow by the day as more and more people wake up and see what’s happening to their America. The first Tax Day Tea Party was held on April 15, 2009, with an estimated 1.2 million participating in the national tea party event on this day. While attending an event in Iowa, a law enforcement officer, told me, “this is a large event for Iowa”, while talking about the estimated 4,000 participants. The same officer continued by stating, “this just shows you that people are truly upset with what is happening.”
Since the last national event held on July 4th, 2009, there have been individual tea parties taking place in communities all over America in strong opposition to issues like Cap and Trade, Health Care Reform, and other issues that could have negative effects on the people of America.

We cannot let up. This is not the time to feel like we are winning anything. This is not about winning. We are about the future, the constitution, and true freedom. The government can't even finish anything it starts. It even abandoned space when we were at the top of the heap in the mid 70's.
Do you realize where things could be today? No this government is too busy giving out freebies to every person who holds out their hand.
If you have't been on your representative (silly statement, we have NONE), or raising as much stink as you can, you are not doing enough. Stand up and be counted!

I think that people definitely need greater access to healthcare, but the proposed plan is definitely a bad idea. Our national debt is already out of control. Our grandchildren should not be burdened with having to pay for this. There has to be a better way.
