Arkansas Leads the Way in Government Change

By

I have lived in 9 different states and I have never seen a more transparent change occurring than in the state I now live – Arkansas.

Maybe I was more of an observer of history and politics than becoming politically engaged for the last 30+ years but I have really seen an unusual coming out of candidates. Today I met Don White, the candidate of change for mayor for the town I live in, at my front door:

His web site is still under construction, but I learned a great deal about the man himself today. We had a conversation that lasted over 20 minutes as he was going door-to-door meeting, greeting, and handing out his business card. A daunting challenge to complete by himself with a Population in July 2008: 29,452. Population change since 2000: +34.4%. I felt so strongly about what he said that I volunteered to help him with his campaign for 2010 when he’s ready for it.

Over the last several months, I also have met candidate David Meeks who will be running for the U.S. House of Representatives and candidate Conrad Reynolds who will be running for the U.S. Senate for Arkansas. I can’t believe that these up-and-coming Arkansas candidates have the dedication, devotion, drive and commitment over other states that I have resided in. I have only met one other political figure previously in 45 years and that was my hometown mayor when he greeted my father and mother at a restaurant when I was young. What I am observing now is the change from the city level up and it is impressive. Conservatively speaking, I am proud to know these candidates for change and await the change they will bring to benefit the majority, instead of the few.
