Congressman King accuses Reid of Protecting ACORN
ByCongressman Steve King, of Iowa, came out with a strong statement today regarding Senator Harry Reid’s willingness to stand behind ACORN while rejecting GOP calls for a full investigation into the organization that has been surrounded in so many scandals and corruption.
Representative King has been at the forefront with numerous blocked attempts of trying to have ACORN removed from any federal funding as well as requests to have the organization from being involved with the 2010 Census. Who has been blocking the Congressman’s efforts? You might just recognize the name, Nancy Pelosi. Read more, Democrats Continue to Protect ACORN.
With today’s latest press release, Rep. Steve King does not let us down with his strong statements against what can be considered a web of corruption.
“The interlocking financial connections between ACORN and its affiliate organizations are rife with waste, fraud and abuse, yet ACORN has never been investigated by Congress because of ACORN cronies like Harry Reid. How much more evidence does Harry Reid need to initiate investigations into this partisan criminal enterprise?
“An all-out, full court press federal investigation is the only way to bring ACORN to heel. The Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service need to jointly investigate ACORN and perform a complete forensic analysis of the activities and finances of ACORN and its affiliates. We also need multiple Congressional committee investigations to ensure ACORN will not continue its shady practices, especially while collecting taxpayer funds. People need to go to jail for criminal activities.”
More on ACORN:
On June 26, 2009, The Washington Times, reported,
“House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. has backed off his plan to investigate purported wrongdoing by the liberal activist group ACORN, saying ?powers that be? put the kibosh on the idea.”
On February 8, 2009, Rotten ACORN, on the organization being under investigation in 14 states,
“ACORN is under investigation in at least 14 states in connection with allegations of voter registration fraud in the 2008 campaign.”
The Las Vegas Sun reported on ACORN voter fraud in Nevada on July 24, 2009.
“The Nevada Attorney General’s Office has charged ACORN and two former employees for allegedly employing a similar quota system in the Las Vegas area during the 2008 presidential campaign.”
The organization even admitted to over 400,000 fraudulent voter registrations in the 2008 election cycle with many details of the many of corruption being provided at, Discover The Networks. I found the statement below on their website.
“The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is a grassroots political organization that grew out of George Wiley’s National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO), whose members in the late 1960s and early 1970s invaded welfare offices across the U.S. — often violently — bullying social workers and loudly demanding every penny to which the law “entitled” them. In the late Sixties, ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke was an NWRO organizer and a protegé of Wiley. Rathke also organized a draft-resistance campaign for the militant group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) during the same period.”
With all this going on, ACORN still stands to make millions, as reported in part by Big Government .com.

God help us. DC not only drinks it, but has circled the wagons to protect the kool aid pitcher.
Where the devil are the "great news organizations" at? Back room of the white house?
