NEA Robert Chanin bids Farewell with a Surprise Admission

By Proud American

At a gathering in San Diego, Robert Chanin gives a farewell speech upon having recently retired from the NEA (National Education Association). The surprise came when Bob was bold enough to make a shocking confession to which he received a standing ovation.

NEA and it’s affiliates are such effective advocates.

Despite what some of us would like to believe,

it is not because of our creative ideas.

It is not because of the merit of our positions.

It is not because we care about children.

And it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child.

NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power.

And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year because they believe we are the unions that can most effectively represent them.

To which my response would be, You are truly sick and twisted people to use my children and America’s children to accomplish your socialistic goals through manipulating our education systems to fulfill these agendas!

There are a number of revealing confessions that Mr. Robert Chanin made during his speech that should make many real educational professionals extremely angry. You may recall other groups like the AARP, who have been hit with a great deal of negative attention and falling membership numbers while they continue to support things like the President’s proposed nationalized healthcare reform.

I would hope that you will make sure that you spread this around to friends and family and send it to the teachers who support the NEA. There are good honest teachers who have been suckered into paying these dues to this union even though they are really there for the children instead of the power that Robert bragged about.

The NEA and AFT (American Federation of Teachers) have been using our children far too long and it is time for We The People to create the real change that the President promised of during his campaign speeches. Both the NEA and AFT have used our children to hide their true political agendas for far too long.  All this while they have used their ever growing powers to influence state and federal lawmakers.

The websites NEAexposed.com and AFTexposed.com have both been designed to expose these unions for their true intentions and the failures they have created in America’s school systems by their strong opposition to holding teachers accountable for the teaching abilities, or in some cases lack there of.

Kyle Olsen recently reported on this very issue on Big Government .com with the following,

It’s important for the American people to understand how they use that power to obstruct desperately needed educational reforms, particularly those involving school choice and increased teacher accountability. They fear reform will threaten their guaranteed clientele of students and job security.

The unions’ militant strategy is putting them at odds with leaders of both political parties. Many Democrats, including President Barack Obama, have joined Republicans in calling for fundamental changes in education.

Last year NEA members stood in silence at their national convention when Obama called for merit pay. This year they booed Education Secretary Arne Duncan when he called for more teacher accountability.

But political isolation only increases their determination.
