Afghanistan Election Decided – Now What About a Troops Decision?
By
Afghanistan has had its election decided by default. The Afghan Election Commission has declared today that Hamid Karzai is the winner of the election after rival Abdullah Abdullah decided not to continue with the run-off election process.
A couple of weeks ago Robert Gates signaled that Mr. Obama would not be rendering a quick decision on the deployment or removal of the military in Afghanistan. It’s not as if Mr. Obama wasn’t told some time ago that additional troops were needed. Even though Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal’s report was purposely delayed in receiving by the White House. It’s not as if he isn’t constantly having to be reminded by other politicians or informed of a concerned American father’s thoughts regarding the death of his soldier son in Afghanistan.
There can be no further foot dragging. Our military has been abandoned by this administration. They are dying at will, due directly to the ridiculous new engagement rules and lean quantities of personnel.
The only support given to our United State Military as of recent, has been a photo opportunity and air time for Mr. Obama, when our dead soldiers were returned to Delaware last week. That belated support to the dead helped no one. Their blood is on your hands for not providing them with the resources to get the job done.
It has been over 60 days of delays, Mr. Obama. There have been wars in history that started, fought and ended in less time. Where is the Commandeer in Relief…I mean the Commander in Chief? What will it take to get you off your duff and make a decision? I don’t want to hear any blame games, you knew what you were getting into, you wanted it, you got it, now do it. Do it right for the United States of America and not with spite!
