IMPORTANT: Senate to Vote to Proceed with Health Care Bill

By Proud American

Tomorrow, Friday November 20, 2009, the Senate will be placing their votes on whether to proceed with the $849 billion dollar Senate version of the health care bill. What this means is that there will be at least 60 votes needed to make a “Motion to Proceed” to continue discussions on the proposed bill. This sounds innocent enough, right?

What you aren’t being told is that any vote for this, motion to proceed, is actually a vote for the bill itself. The sad facts are the bill will only need 51 votes for passage after this initial vote. A Senator can tell you they are voting for the Motion to Proceed but plan to vote against the actual bill, when in fact, their vote tomorrow will actually be making the passage of the bill much easier and will therefore be considered a vote for the approval of the bill.

With that said, now is the time to take a strong stance against the Motion to Proceed with the health care bill. Hold them accountable with those Pink Slips and your phone calls, faxes, and your letters. Obviously, the phone calls and faxes are the important ways of communicating right now.

You can find out more about where the taxes will come from the nonpartisan body, The Joint Committee on Taxation.

For those of you waiting for someone else to do something, this is NOT the time to be waiting. This vote is far more critical than what is being talked about.

Call your Senators today and tomorrow and politely demand they do NOT vote for the “Motion to Proceed”. The White House switchboard number is 202-456-1414 for those who do not already know who their Senators are.

Dear 912 Project!
I really want to read your posted information and articles. However, typing important messages and articles with a background color of blue, with black type wherein one cannot read the type clearly is not user friendly/!! And the electric blue on jean color blue is just as difficult. Please try to use background colors and type colors that allow clarity of the messages you want to provide.
Thank You
