Dick Morris arrived in Little Rock, Arkansas on the Americans for Prosperity “Hands off My Health Care” Bus. What a great crowd! As with every Health Care event or Town Hall in Arkansas, the concerned citizens who gathered were polite, respectful and attentive.

Handouts1

Americans for Prosperity had handouts and bumper stickers for everyone in attendance and all handouts are geared toward the death of the Health Care bill, instead of death by the Health Care bill. Lots of good information. I believe the websites can be seen on the handouts depicted.

Dick Morris spoke to the exuberant crowd for 25 minutes. He was gracious with bits of wit thrown in. He detailed a personal experience regarding his elderly father (who is 99 and had been a New York University professor up until  just a few years ago ) with a health condition that had required surgery. He spoke of the the 3 plus additional years that they have had together. He explained how the Health Care Bill, that is creeping through the Senate, would not have provided services to his father or been approved by a panel due to his father’s advanced years.

Mr. Morris supplied facts and figures that simply were horrific. The most important observation he made was that if the Health Care bill passes, when enacted – it would create an immediate high influx of patients that would in turn, cause a shortage of doctors and hospitals. (He didn’t mention the illegal alien connection or prescription medicines and those are worrisome.)

As he was closing his meeting, he reminded all Arkansans to call Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and let them know where we stand on the monstrosity that is the current Health Care Bill. He even supplied all of their phone and fax numbers. The crowd gave him a throwback call (to the old Clinton days) with an Arkansas Razorback cheer. It was a wake up call to action.
