Today is the Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party

By

Today is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party which was originally held on December 16, 1773. When the tea went overboard during the Boston Tea Party, few realized the War for Independence, from a government of tyranny, was actually beginning.

On Monday morning, the 29th of November, 1773, a handbill was posted all over Boston, containing the following words: “Friends! Brethren! Countrymen!–That worst of plagues, the detested tea, shipped for this port by the East India Company, is now arrived in the harbor; the hour of destruction, or manly opposition to the machinations of tyranny, stares you in the face. Every friend to his country, to himself and to posterity, is now called upon to meet at Faneuil Hall, at nine o’clock THIS DAY (at which time the bells will ring), to make united and successful resistance to this last, worst, and most destructive measure of administration.”

There are a great number of comparisons between the original Tea Party and the efforts of today’s tea party events. The modern day tea party actually began in the Atlanta, Georgia area and was attended by approximately 300-400 patriots who were fed up with the wreckless spending by our elected officials in Washington, D.C. Soon thereafter, a national Tax Day Tea Party event was held on February 27th, when an estimated 30,000 Americans took to the streets in 40+ cities across the country in the first modern day era nationwide “Tea Party” protest. As the popularity of the idea grew, the desire to have another national tea party came to light. This time it was officially labeled “The Tax Day Tea Party” and was held on the official tax day of April 15, 2009 with attendance many times the previous events estimates.

This increased interest also created a growth of a large number of organizations such as: American Liberty Alliance, Smart Girl Politics, Tea Party Coalition, Tea

Some politicians have even gone so far as to label this movement as “Astroturf”, when in fact this movement is a beast like no other and controlled by no group or organization. There are Tea Party groups and 912 groups located all across America with each of them answering to no one national organization.

Many bloggers, pundits, and main stream media heads believe this grass roots movement has lost its strength and interest. What they don’t know, nor do they want to acknowledge, is that these groups are still adding more and more members each day and are merely regrouping to build an interest and a line of attack to regain control of “We The People’s” government with the 2010 year being the first primary focus.

One of the latest groups to join this exploding movement is the “Year of Youth: Project 2012“, who have hit the web like a firestorm in recent days. They have caught my attention, since getting our youth involved has been a huge focal point for me. Keep your eyes pealed for more news on this group.

Below is a rather interesting video titled, “The Youth Revolution – Project 2012″, which is being heavily promoted by Year of Youth.
