What Part of Legal vs. Illegal Immigration Does Respect – Respeto Not Understand?
ByI believe Respect/Respeto (organization) understands very well what is legal versus illegal immigration. Ironic that they use bits of “The Declaration of Independence”, meant for United States Citizens, on their About Me page. This organization has been texting (and not only supported but participated in) to illegal immigrants evasion of legitimate canvassing sweeps of citizenry checks. Would this not be considered aiding and abetting or protecting non-citizens who are breaking U.S. Laws? They have a disclaimer to prove it.
The following was found on the RESPECT/RESPETO disclaimer page:

Unfortunately they combine the Hispanic U.S. Citizenry with the illegal Hispanic immigrant on their Facts Page. This is unequal under our laws and a slap in the face to legal immigrants and the Hispanic lineage and ancestry of natural born American citizens.
The following was found on the Facts Page of RESPECT/RESPETO:
During his campaign, President-Elect Obama promised to bring about comprehensive immigration reform. He repeatedly supported measures to fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy by increasing the numbers of legal immigrants in order to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers can’t fill. Further he supported a system that allows undocumented immigrants the opportunity to come out of the shadows and into a legal status.
Apparently they have missed the fact that the growing unemployment rate was last reported to be 10% nationally. There statement of, “meet the demand for jobs that employers can’t fill“, holds no merit in today’s current employment market.
The above research started with the following twitter tweets I made yesterday:

Human rights group launches countdown clock for immigration reform from President-Elect ObamaFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PHOENIX (January 05, 2009) – A human rights organization announced today that they have a message for President-Elect Obama; we’re counting the days until you fulfill your campaign promise to enact comprehensive immigration reform. On January 20, Respect Respeto will activate the Keep the Promise Clock, counting the days until President-Elect Obama institutes the much needed immigration reform policies promised to the Hispanic community throughout his campaign.
“The Hispanic vote was significant to President-Elect Obama’s Victory,” said Lydia Guzman, Executive Director of Respect Respeto. “Immigration reform needs to be a priority in President-Elect Obama’s first 100 days.”
During his campaign, President-Elect Obama supported measures to fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy by increasing the numbers of legal immigrants in order to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers can’t fill. Further he supported a system that allows undocumented immigrants the opportunity to come out of the shadows and into a legal status.
With the significant gain of seats in the House of Representatives and the Senate made by the Democratic Party in the 2008 elections, President-Elect Obama will be able to address immigration reform within his first 100 days. In addition, Senator John McCain will continue to be an ally in the Senate and assist the President-Elect in his efforts to craft and pass comprehensive immigration reform.
“The President-Elect needs to know that we do not consider these idle promises,” said Guzman. “There is no excuse for him to fail to deliver the Change We Need. He has the votes in Congress to get immigration reform passed. The Keep the Promise Clock will hold him and the Democratic Party to their promises.”
Respect Respeto’s Mission
Respect Respeto is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the promise of the Founding Fathers by protecting the rights of all people-unalienable human rights protected by “our Creator.” Regardless of your country of origin, legal status, religion, gender or the color of your skin, “we hold these truths to be self-evident,” as stated in our Declaration of Independence, that all men and women have the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

Just a head’s up! - Ms. Guzman, POTUS has a tendency to throw, that which he is done with, under the bus.
I can speak to this as a former resident of Tucson, Arizona. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is well appreciated for his fine work.

Immigration Terminology 101 – PART 1
With the vitriolic immigration debate roiling in all parts of our country, it is important to understand terminology. Be prepared to dispel the half-truths and no truths of the way those who are illegally in our country are described by their advocates. Knowledge is power:
ILLEGAL:
1.) Unlawful; illegitimate; illicit; unlicensed.
2.) Illegal, unlawful, illegitimate, illicit, criminal can all describe actions not in accord with law.
3.) Illegal refers most specifically to violations of statutes.
4.) Prohibited by law
ALIEN:
1.) a person who is not a citizen of the country.
2.) in the United States any person born in another country to parents who are not American and who has not become a naturalized citizen. There are resident aliens officially permitted to live in the country and illegal aliens who have sneaked into the country or stayed beyond the time allowed on a visa.

Immigration Terminology 101 – PART 2
INVADE:
1.to enter like an enemy: Locusts invaded the fields
2.to enter as if to take possession: To invade a neighbor's home
3.to enter and affect injuriously or destructively, as disease: Viruses that invade the bloodstream.
4.to intrude upon: To invade the privacy of a family.
5.to encroach or infringe upon: to invade the rights of citizens.
6.to permeate: The smell of baking invades the house.
7.to penetrate; spread into or over: The population boom has caused city dwellers to invade the suburbs
Those illegally in a country are not "immigrants". There is no such thing as an "illegal immigrant". An immigrant is involved with an established and orderly procedure of immigration (entering a country to which one is not native in order to settle there by legal process).

Immigration Terminology 101 – PART 3
They are not immigrants, not undocumented immigrants (Dead Kennedy and the PC fan favorite), not undocumented workers, not undocumented Americans (Harry Reid’s favorite), not economic immigrants (Big Business and Wall Street favorite), not immigrants without work papers, not people who are working (Enrique Morone’s favorite), not migrant workers, not entrants, not day laborers, not the “unbanked” (Bill Clinton and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s favorite) and certainly not “new Americans” the latest term applied by the new amnesty zealots.
The government has defined them as "illegal aliens" and explicitly uses that term in all its laws and statutes. So keep it simple…a spade is a spade…they are illegal aliens. Or, if you’d prefer, another term that would be just as correct to use is "invaders". I would consider the two interchangeable.

Immigration Terminology 101 – PART 4
One other definition is exceedingly useful since you’ll hear with every piece of amnesty legislation, the open border lobbyists, facilitators and illegal alien advocates declaring that it isn’t amnesty in the hope that you will think so. Here’s the definition of amnesty so you can decide for yourself:
AMNESTY is legislation to forgive the breaking of immigration laws and to make it possible for illegal aliens to live permanently in the United States. Amnesty represents a system of federal rewards and assistance for illegal aliens, and they entice an even greater number of foreign nationals to illegally enter a country. Amnesty is providing the ultimate goal of the perpetrators illegal entry…legalization of their presence.
AMNESTY:
1.A general pardon for offenses against a government
2.An act of forgiveness for past offenses, esp. to a class of persons as a whole
3.Forgetting or overlooking any past offense
There you have it, folks. Knowledge is power…use it wisely.

I'm sure you are well aware of Sotomayer using her position to try and change the terms:

Sotomizer is a liar just as her handlers. Waa Waa I had to work to get where I am. Let's throw a friggin' party and cry crocodile tears for her.
Absolute joke. I am so tired of this trash. Maybe she would like to take in the woman I stood behind with her PA Access card (welfare) who pretended not to be able to speak english while standing there in her jammy bottoms and slippers.
Someone knew how to steal from me, now they cannot understand when the card is used up?
Pass the crack pipe!
Oh, and by the way I like yard work and would love to mow lawns for a living, but the rich in California don't want to have to pay anything, and neither do the guys in Phila. who send truck loads of them to central pa to mow lawns at malls etc. where they get contracts out from under the local guy and hire…………CRIMINALS, (see description above)
