Bring Home The Politicians (eCongress) was started back in June of 2009. Ample help came early on from this site (especially it’s admin) in making important connections that lead to local radio interviews and involvement with rallies across the country.  This planted the seeds that grew into mentions of eCongress on Glenn Beck’s Radio Show, Fox News, the American Spectator, and other venues throughout the Winter of 2010.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, eCongress is relocating US Representatives to our Local Districts, US Senators to our State Capitals, and State Representatives & State Senators to our City Halls/Courthouses to securely telecommute for 75% of their terms to increase voter access and reduce lobbyist influence.

Nearly a year and a half later since our initial launch, I’m pleased to announce a major event this upcoming Thursday, October 14th from 12:30-1:30 PST / 3:30-4:30 EST in Santa Monica, California.  CNBC Financial Commentator Jim Rogers and Former US Senator of Alaska Mike Gravel will be taking part in a panel discussion on eCongress.

This event is open to the public for those living in the Santa Monica area and for everyone else it will be broadcast live on http://econgressnow.com. Your assistance in spreading the word is essential to its success.

Having these two public figures involved is significant because both have advocated some form of eCongress for years now.  Most notable is Jim Rogers who wrote about a broad version of the concept in the Afterword section of his 1994 best seller “Investment Biker.”

Many are surprised to learn that eCongress has gotten a lot closer to becoming a reality than Mr. Rogers’ writings.  In 2001 following the September 11th attacks, J.H. Snider of the New America Foundation presented this idea to US Congress as a highly recommended national security upgrade.  The idea was put into multiple US House Bills in 2002 drawing bipartisan support, but the effort was eventually dismissed citing Congressmen could not be relied on to show up for votes and committee meetings if allowed to telecommute.  This excuse is even more absurd today given the millions of Americans out of work who would have no problem maintaining perfect attendance in the name of a paycheck.

Moving beyond the November election, it’s going to take ideas like this to pull us out of the quagmire.  And because eCongress garners support across the political spectrum, this has a better than average shot of coming to fruition in the midst of a deeply polarized nation.

I thank you for your support in the past, the present, and into our future where we will defy expectations and emerge from this uncertainty as a shining example of liberty, freedom, and ingenuity for the rest of the world.

The Liberty loving team at Institute for Justice launches a new campaign called, Camp Politics, against the Free Speech killing campaign finance laws meant to suppress your free speech rights found in the 1st Amendment.

While many would consider the Camp Politics to be political satire, it is well intended to show the idiocies involving the current political arena and the passage of laws to stop you from voicing your concerns and having a voice in your America.

This explanation of Camp Politics can be found on the page devoted to the campaign,

Our mission is to train your son or daughter to win political office and then stay there – mainly by using campaign finance laws to suppress political speech that threatens their reelection.

But, unfortunately, many in the public have the absurd idea that free speech should receive the full protection of the First Amendment. One of the chief proponents of this view is the Institute for Justice. It just launched its “Citizen Speech Campaign,” which it calls “a multi-state effort to restore full protection to political speech about candidates and ballot issues.”  If you truly care about your children’s future as successful incumbent politicians, please do not allow the Institute to dissuade you from sending them to Camp Politics.

Harry Reid (D) and Sharron Angle (R) Nevada Senate Race

Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senate Candidate Sharron Angle (R)

According to the latest radio ad for Sharron Angle, Harry Reid still holds the honor of being Nancy Pelosi’s lapdog in the spot by the Western Representation PAC. In the ad a call is placed to Pelosi’s phone by the union supported Senator Reid where he is portrayed as being a loyal lapdog while leaving several messages asking for advice from Pelosi on how to continue to distort the facts with his campaign’s attacks against Sharron Angle.

The PAC is responsible for the Defeat Reid 2010 website and has been working hard to help Sharron Angle fight against the well funded SEIU union campaign supporting the Senator in this critical Nevada Senate race. This has become known as one of the most critical campaigns for the 2010 election cycle with the efforts of the unions to most likely be ramped up in the remaining weeks as the latest Rasmussen poll shows Angle having jumped ahead of Reid by 4 points.

The Rasmussen Report states,

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Nevada Voters shows Angle hitting the 50% mark for the first time since mid-August, while Reid earns 46% of the vote.

Here the latest radio ad for Sharron Angle ~HERE~.

Forbes Magazine‘s has announced that Michelle Obama tops  their 100 Most Powerful Women list:

“At the top of our list, First Lady Michelle Obama is a true change-maker since taking lodge in the White House in 2008. The first African-American in the post, she’s changed the face of the office (literally), and with consistently high approval ratings, she’s given a new generation of girls and women around the world a role model. A former private attorney and public servant in Chicago, her interest in working with young people and advocating for healthy eating, among other issues, is evidenced by her Let’s Move! campaign, which aims to solve the epidemic of childhood obesity within a generation.”

The role as First Lady of the United States doesn’t seem to be sitting well with Ms. Obama who apparently finds the job so difficult that The National Enquirer (which broke the news of John Edwards’ affair two years before the MSM touched the story) is reporting that the day after the First Family returned from vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, Ms. Obama could be heard screaming at her husband:

“Michelle collapsed in tears and even threatened to divorce Barack if he seeks a second term as president,” a source in the nation’s capital told The ENQUIRER.
“At one point, Michelle was heard yelling, ‘I hate you for dragging me through all this…I’ve had enough!’”
Ms. Obama also reportedly told the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni Sarkozy, that she “thinks being First Lady is hell.” This statement has been denied by both parties, but given the report by the National Enquirer, one has to wonder if there isn’t a bit of truth to the denied statement.
To give Michelle credit, being First Lady is hard.  There’s the matter of all those State dinners she has to be dressed for, usually by world-famous designers; the parties PBHO throws for her almost weekly where she has to make small talk with major Hollywood stars and try to appreciate the music played for her by world renown musicians.  Don’t forget, the White House is really big, too, and not having any responsibility for her house, having a personal chef and not having to clean toilets must be a real drag.  Her kids are forced to go to one of the best private schools in the country; she is chauffeured everywhere, and to top it off, the vacations just really suck.  Who would want to take 30+ of their best friends and jet off to Spain on an all-expense (on the backs of the tax-payers) paid trip?  How wretched a life can one have?
Ms. Obama also may feel like she’s not being fully utilized for her brains and experience – meddling with policy and attempting to dictate what Americans can and cannot eat and how much Americans should be exercising seems to not be enough for her; after all she IS Forbes Most Powerful Woman, she should be getting more respect, right?
The reasoning behind Forbes awarding Michelle Obama with the title of  ”Most Powerful Woman in the World” seems a little weak given the competition she had – she beat out perennial ”Most Powerful Woman” woman Oprah (#3), Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton (#5) and Sarah Palin (#16).
So it has to be asked:  Why would Forbes deign to award this title to Michelle?  Instead of the work she is doing on the behalf of the world’s children, could it have more to do with the fact that she holds Obama’s little toy marbles in her hands?  Obama, as President of the  United States, IS the most powerful man in the world, so is Forbes trying to tell America that they know where the real power lies and it ain’t with Barack Hussein Obama?
If that is the case, it can only be hoped that Ms. Obama will continue to wield her power over the Presidential Marbles because who knows:  Perhaps she squeezes so hard that instead of not only not considering a second term, President Obama will give up the Presidency altogether.  (Which, while also making his wife happy, he’d certainly be doing Americans a favor as well.)
Please, Ms. Obama, continue the crying, whining, screaming and threats: the sooner your husband is out of office, the better off America will be.

The One Nation Rally came and went, and along with it’s passing comes all the great controversy over size does matter. While promoting his event, self proclaimed super progressive Ed Schultz, stated, “I guarantee you, I could do more than 300,000!”, because those were in his mind the high numbers of the 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally held in D.C. in exactly the same location.

As you can clearly see from the images below, Ed Schultz’s mouth is much bigger than his actions. Better luck next time, Ed. Maybe next time you will find more than that little Fargo, North Dakota fan base to show at your event.

8/28 vs 10/2 comparison image

Just in case your argument has something to do with the time of day the bottom image was taken, take a careful look at the shadows and notice the shadows of the perspective trees are due North or close to it. That would put the time of the photo at or near the 12 PM time frame.

So, let’s give them another chance to prove themselves. Just maybe they left the grounds as clean as the attendees of the Restoring Honor Rally.

Ouch! I’m sorry to see they just couldn’t have enough pride in their own One Nation event to have taken the time and consideration to clean up after themselves.

Just maybe they are beginning to realize that they got a whole lot of change without the hope to back it up.
