American Majority has teamed up with Nascar to bring the 2012 elections to a racetrack near you.

From AmericanMajorityracing.com:

With the 2012 Presidential campaign in full swing across the nation, American Majority, a leading national conservative training organization, has launched an unprecedented effort to engage NASCAR fans during this critical election year. American Majority will be the primary sponsor of NASCAR driver Jason Bowles and MacDonald Motorsports car #81 for the 2012 Nationwide Series in a massive effort to mobilize millions of NASCAR fans.

Since Nascar fans are generally highly engaged in the political process, through the partnership with MacDonald Motorsports, American Majority will be able to reach millions of potential voters:

Statistics show that 53% of NASCAR fans vote regularly demonstrating that while more politically active than many other groups1, NASCAR fans are not realizing their full potential to positively impact the electoral process. The American Majority Racing program will encourage NASCAR fans and all Americans to “Pledge to Vote” during the 2012 election.

NASCAR fans are a prime demographic to educate about how smaller government and less spending means more personal and economic freedom for all Americans.

The Minnesota Precinct Caucuses will be held February 7. All across the state, people will gather together to discuss and vote for the 2012 Presidential candidates they support in the upcoming elections. Unlike a primary where citizens take a few minutes to sign in and vote, a caucus can take hours to complete as people stump for their candidates, discussions of party platform positions ensue and those who only show up during major election-years sigh in boredom, wondering when they’ll be able to cast their ballot.

In 2008, a friend and I attended our local caucus and were dismayed by the amount of time it took to participate. We were amazed by the fact that in the face of an ailing economy and two socialist-leaning Democrat opponents to whomever the GOP ultimately nominated, that time was devoted toward pushing an anti-abortion stance on a platform where the anti-abortion stance was already stated. After about two hours of listening to people debate the pros/cons of each candidate and all the platform ideas, we finally were able to cast a ballot for the candidate of our choice. We then were divided into smaller groups to further discuss the goals of our party. … Read the Entire Story

The latest update on the Remuda Ranch Estates Association vs Johnnie and Clara Russell lawsuit:

January 5th the Russells were back in court where the Judge overruled the previous court decision, ruling instead in favor of the Russells, which eliminated the bond payment requirement and opened the door for the Russells to appeal the original decision against them in District court. A court date has not yet been set, but it is anticipated to be done in the next week or two.

Along with this victory, other interesting issues have occurred:

The Russells had their land surveyed and discovered that the sign in question was in fact not placed on their property, but was actually placed about four feet away from their property line – on county land. The county maintains the land on which the sign was placed, coming out about three times a year to mow or clear brush. Anyone could have removed the sign at any time, but did not do so. Due to the fact that the sign was not on the Russell’s property, the charge by the HOA that the Russells have violated a deed restriction should be thrown out.

Less than a week later, … Read the Entire Story

Schools all over Wisconsin have been closed since Tuesday because of illegally striking teachers angry about Governor Walker’s proposals that they contribute to their own pensions and health care and some loss of collective bargaining rights. Many claim it isn’t about the money, it’s the collective bargaining issue. They claim that without the ability to collectively bargain Wisconsin’s schools will lose its talented teachers and other top-rated public employees because the benefits they currently enjoy will be minimized under Walker’s plan. Because when it comes down to it, it’s really about the kids, right? Without the great benefits these teachers and other public employees enjoy, a diverse school district like Milwaukee, for example, would experience one of the highest achievement gaps between white and minority students in the country, have a graduation rate of less than 70% for all students, have only 40% of 10th-12th graders proficient in reading and only 30% of 10th-12th graders proficient in math. But wait, this is where the MPS district already stands – with the exceptional benefits the unions are fighting to retain. So, if the union loses everything they’ve been protesting about for the last week, are they saying that these stats will get worse?

Monday a friend (who is a Conservative Wisconsin teacher) contacted me to have me look into the budget fixes proposed by Governor Walker. She and her husband are very upset about the approximate 25% decrease in her paycheck that will result from the increase in pension and medical contributions the Governor is asking the teachers and other public employees to make. Understandably, she’s struggling to figure out how they’re going to make up for that loss in pay, as are many of the other teachers and public employees who are now protesting the Governor’s budget in Madison. One of the things cited by my friend as part of her anger is that the Wisconsin Firefighters, Police and State Troopers are exempt from this plan, since those unions endorsed Walker when he ran for governor last year. She understands the need for the cuts, but feels that if everyone is being asked to make the change, then EVERYONE should be required, not just those who did not endorse the new Governor of Wisconsin. (My friend is not one of the thousands of teachers who participated in the “sick-in” aka illegal strike this week nor does she condone the teachers who did … Read the Entire Story

Forbes Magazine‘s has announced that Michelle Obama tops their 100 Most Powerful Women list:

“At the top of our list, First Lady Michelle Obama is a true change-maker since taking lodge in the White House in 2008. The first African-American in the post, she’s changed the face of the office (literally), and with consistently high approval ratings, she’s given a new generation of girls and women around the world a role model. A former private attorney and public servant in Chicago, her interest in working with young people and advocating for healthy eating, among other issues, is evidenced by her Let’s Move! campaign, which aims to solve the epidemic of childhood obesity within a generation.”

The role as First Lady of the United States doesn’t seem to be sitting well with Ms. Obama who apparently finds the job so difficult that The National Enquirer (which broke the news of John Edwards’ affair two years before the MSM touched the story) is reporting that the day after the First Family returned from vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, Ms. Obama could be heard screaming at her husband:

“Michelle collapsed in tears and even threatened to divorce Barack if he seeks a second term

On 8/28/2010, Glenn Beck held his “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, DC. It is believed over 500,000 people attended what Beck billed as a non-political event. As he said on his 8/30 television show: “I said the message would be about restoring honor and turning to God. I said the day would be about faith, hope and charity. I told you for a long time the day would be focused on challenging each and every individual so we can restore honor. That’s the key to restoring our country, restoring ourselves first.” Beck’s own words attest that not only was this a non-political rally but that it was a non-denominational rally – spiritually challenging and uplifting, but non-doctrinal to ANY particular religion other than the basic Christian values found in the Bible.

Since Glenn is a known Mormon, there are some on the “Christian”-side who are criticizing him for his audacity in believing that he could or should hold such a rally as the Restoring Honor Rally. Some accuse him of attempting to fulfill a Mormon prophecy of “Divine Destiny” – the same phrase Beck has used in describing the Founders and the writing of … Read the Entire Story

One person is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes in the United States. 1 in 68 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer by age 40. No one should have to face this disease, so in order to create a future without breast cancer, I walked in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure this past weekend. I walked with 2400+ women and men who have been touched, one way or another, by breast cancer. I talked with women young and old who have fought the battle and won (for now) and women who, their bald heads protected by caps and bandannas, were still in the middle of their own battle against this disease, but who still proudly walked all or most of the 60 miles with me. I sat in line for a shower with an elderly woman who, under Obamacare, would most likely be told that some of the drugs available for fighting breast cancer won’t be available to her.

Recently, the FDA determined that the cancer-fighting drug, Avastin, is not cost-effective in treating stage IV breast cancer patients. Avastin has been proven to extend cancer patients’ lives by several months, it will no longer

Let me get this straight: Americans are all being forced to: tighten their belts due to a recession caused by government interference with the housing market; warily watch the economy for the feared “double-dip” recession that, if it comes, will also have been caused by government interference in the Nation’s business; hold onto jobs that they don’t like for fear of being unable to find another one if they quit; take “stay-cations” because they can’t afford real vacations; and basically cut back on anything and everything.

Meanwhile, over 100 Representatives and government workers spent over $1.1 million dollars to attend the Copenhagen Summit. Not only did our Representatives spend 1.1 Million Tax-Payer Dollars to attend a summit based on fabricated evidence of Global Warming, (Climategate emails), but they also in no way accounted for the taxpayer money they spent while there. Furthermore, had the so-called leaders had their way, this Summit would have forced Americans to pay higher taxes and increased energy costs in order to subsidize third-world, emerging countries’ efforts to go “green”. So we go to a Climate Change Conference to pay countries like China to whom we already owe billions of dollars.

Recently, I was indirectly chastised on Facebook by an Obama-supporting friend who doesn’t appreciate the fact that I am more than willing to post various informative links about the nefarious activities of the current administration and our Congressional leaders. Her argument was that people shouldn’t try to change things they have no power to change, that we should only try to change what happens in our own little sphere and leave the rest in God’s hands because all things happen on His time. This statement is partly true – obviously, if you are a God-fearing person, you must believe that all things happen on God’s time; however, to say that we must not try to change the things we see going wrong, that we must just pray and put those things into God’s hands. If that were the case, what would happen?

Throughout history, there is evidence of God putting someone into the right place at the right time to affect the things happening around them. In the Bible, the Book of Esther demonstrates exactly how God uses people to affect change. It is the only book of the Bible in which God is NEVER directly mentioned. When the threat … Read the Entire Story

David Brooks has a pretty high opinion of himself and the current President and a pretty low opinion of the Tea Party Movement. In his recent New York Times column, Tea Parties Passion and Potential, Brooks describes the Tea Party movement as “…a large, fractious confederation of Americans who are defined by what they are against.” Apparently Brooks hasn’t actually been to a Tea Party. If he had taken the time to attend even one, he’d understand that what the Movement is about is the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the belief that the current and former administrations have been taking America further and further away from the Founding Fathers’ ideals. He is assuming that because he sees the Movement as being only about being against “…the concentrated power of the educated class…” and that “big government, big business, big media and the affluent professionals are merging to form self-serving oligarchy – with bloated government, unsustainable deficits, high taxes and intrusive regulation,” that the Movement “could be the ruin of the (Republican) party…” and will pull the Republican party into “an angry direction that suburban voters will not tolerate.”
