Local chapters of Americans for Prosperity will be the primary sponsor of this one of many coming events planned to tour across the United States to encourage citizens to Take Back Our Government.

Iowans will have the honor of hearing speakers like Joe the Plumber and Herman Cain, along with having having the extreme pleasure of hearing and seeing the overnight internet sensation, Lewis Schaeffer, sing his fourth verse of the Star Spangled Banner, our National Anthem as seen in the video at the bottom of this story. The Des Moines Tax Day Tea Party event will be held on the West side of the Iowa State Capitol Building from 12 PM – 3 PM CST and is one of the few such events to focus citizens. While many organizers of similar events have chosen to prop up political candidates or elected officials in their areas, the Des Moines Tea Party group has decided to put their focus on the people of Iowa rather than politicians.
