Concerned Iowa Resident Fires Congressman Leonard Boswell
Posted by: | CommentsWhile attending the Des Moines, Iowa 912 meeting on July, 4 2009, I met Frank and we had a chance to talk about several issues concerning Iowa and America. He was just one of many people I had an opportunity to speak with while attending the Tea Party and the 912 group of Des Moines. All of which showed great concern about the complete disregard our state and federal lawmakers showed towards the people they are suppose to be representing. Frank recently wrote Congressman Leonard Boswell of Iowa and below you will find Leonard Boswell’s response to Frank.

Congressman Leonard Boswell of Iowa
Mr. Frank
Des Moines, Iowa 50317
Dear Frank:
I appreciate you taking the time to share with me your views regarding energy, climate change, and the American Clean Energy and Security Act. The views of my fellow Iowans are an essential component of my decision making process as a Member of Congress.
I believe the science is clear: carbon dioxide emissions are contributing to unprecedented climate changes. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has warned repeatedly that unless the industrial world acts soon, projected increases in emissions over the next fifty years will lead to drastic ecological changes, endangering countless species and human health.
However, experts predict that by expanding efficiency strategies using existing technologies, we could eliminate more than twenty-percent of the world’s energy demand by 2020. This challenge also presents an opportunity to put Americans back to work in green-collar jobs that reduce our energy use while protecting our environment for future generations.
In 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that EPA was required under the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gases, including CO2. This spring, the EPA issued an “endangerment finding”, signaling their preparation to comply with the court’s decision. Without Congressional action I believe EPA will move forward with regulation which would harm all Iowans, including farmers, businesses, and consumers
On June 26, 2009 the House passed the bi-partisan American Clean Energy and Security Act, also known as ACES. While this bill is not perfect – few usually are – I am pleased that it will harness the most innovative workforce in the world to create a clean energy future, creating millions of jobs in the process. Energy independence is vital to our national security and economic future, and this legislation advances this goal while confronting the serious and real challenge of climate change.
News reports documented my early concerns with the bill. I made those objections known to Chairmen Peterson and Waxman, and am pleased that over 90 percent were remedied, and as a result, this bill is much better than it was before. However, one key concern remains. As currently written, this legislation provides local utility distribution companies with allowances through a formula equally weighted between historic emissions and retail sales. This is not good for Iowa or the Midwest!
I am still fighting to have the formula changed so that distributed allowances are based solely on historic emissions. Since the intent of the legislation is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and the intent of providing allowances is to protect consumers from price increases, basing allowances on retail sales reduces the legislation’s effectiveness. Coal-reliant states like those in the Midwest should not be disproportionately penalized. As a country we should be in this together and should not be picking winners or losers.
While this issue was not fixed in the House passed version of ACES, I have already been in contact with my colleagues in the Senate on this issue. I will continue to work to ensure Iowa is treated fairly by any energy and environmental legislation, and continue to work to ensure Iowa plays a prominent role in further negotiation.
Another reason I supported this legislation is that we must break our bondage to OPEC. This bill uses market incentives to move away from carbon-based energy. It makes historical investments in clean coal and Smart Grid Technology. This bill will also ensure that the U.S. biofuels industry can continue to provide us with domestically produced renewable fuels.
This bill is also an economic issue for Iowa’s families. Estimates on ACES say more than 1.7 million new clean energy jobs will be created. Don’t we want clean energy jobs? Of course we do. We live in a global world and the future of that world will belong to the nation’s that develop renewable energy. China spends six times more on renewable energy than we do and Spain, Denmark, and Portugal produce more wind power than the United States. This bill incentivizes renewable energy production.
Finally, agriculture plays a pivotal role in ACES. After weeks of intense negotiations between members of the Energy and Commerce and Agriculture Committees a monumental deal was struck. There is a robust offset provision for agriculture and forestry producers which recognizes early adaptors. The offset program run by USDA creates a new market opportunity for farmers, ranchers and forestland owners who can play an important role in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. Agricultural producers have been participating in conservation and carbon sequestration programs for many years, working to increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support a renewable energy industry. This legislation recognizes those efforts and encourages these important activities.
I appreciate you taking the time to allow me to explain why I supported the American Clean Energy and Security Act. This legislation creates a new energy policy and address the global climate crisis. I am glad that this legislation preempts potentially devastating regulation by the EPA and am also pleased that it would harness the most innovative workforce in the world to create a clean energy future, creating millions of jobs in the process. Energy independence is vital to our national security and economic future, and this legislation advances this goal while confronting the serious challenge of climate change.
The 111th Congress faces many significant challenges, and economic recovery is vital if we are to meet them. As a senior member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I will continue building upon the job creation opportunities that we have brought to the 3rd District in order to provide the stimulus Iowa needs. I periodically provide electronic updates on issues I think my constituents might be interested in. If you would like to receive the E-newsletter, please sign up at my Web Site at http://boswell.house.gov. As always, please feel free to contact me or my office if ever you think we may be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Leonard L. Boswell
Member of Congress
Frank’s response:
Congressman Leonard Boswell…YOU’RE FIRED!
Frank’s letter to me was in response to a letter I wrote to Iowa Representatives: “The American People have Something to Say to Congress about Cap and Trade Passing“
To My Arkansas U.S. Senators, Your Cap & Trade Position
Posted by: | CommentsTo My Arkansas U.S. Senators, Your Cap & Trade Position
How to locate your Senator & contact info: http://www.senate.gov/index.htm
First the obligatory titles:

U.S. Senator Blanche L. Lincoln (D)

U.S. Senator Mark L. Pryor (D)
Dear Senators,
I would like to address the fact that within your title is U.S. for United States and without the periods interjected it stands for US meaning “We the People.” In no way does it stand for your “me” factor, It’s all about the “We”factor. Now I don’t know if you realize this, but the Senate is 1/2 of its own branch of government. That would be the Legislative branch. You are not to kowtow to the Executive branch, bribed by the Executive branch, threatened by the Executive branch, or pressured by the Executive branch and its Czars and Czarinas. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Headlines/Default.aspx?id=583216 As a body, with the U.S. House of Representatives, you are equal to the other branches of government as laid down by the U.S. Constitution ( i.e.all Four – Executive, Legislative, Judicial and Grand Jury). But enough about history, on to the mystery….

Have you been listening to the will of the people who placed you into your offices? They are your employers. It’s time to do a performance review and it looks like the letter D after each of your names is about your Top score. Let’s put the theory to the test and see if you have even read the letters from your constituents just found here:
http://www.congress.org/bio/id/292
http://www.congress.org/bio/id/31613
I personally have never received a returned phone call, but I do have great examples of canned email responses from your offices. You pretend to care about the State of Arkansas and the United of America but your voting records state otherwise. The only time your patriotism flows is when its nears voting day and colorful mailers overflow the mailbox, TV commercials air religiously, and you might be found at a big money making dinner or a feel good event. When was the last time either of you visited a Retirement home, a Veteran’s hospital, a classroom, a downsized company, a closing company, an unemployment office, tornado stricken communities and progress? Do you read the Arkansas Democrat Gazette? Do you want to hear the truth of how YOUR votes have created chaos?
Are you going to approve this Cap & Trade bill for popularity amongst your Congressional peers, Obama, and the Main Stream Media?
Or will you stand tall and with pride for Arkansas by denying any passage of such a ludicrous bill?
If you believe that all the spending your decisions you have allowed have been for the greater good, just look at the unemployment rate. That would make you a contributing factor of an F score in economic recovery. With a failing score, that would mean during our next election you will be fired and have to be replaced.
I know that I cannot vote for each and every one of our Representatives because I am not in their Districts, but I will be helping to campaign against our Kansas ones (even not in my district) who voted for this bill.

Kansas State Map
“You fooled us once, shame on you. You fooled us twice, shame on us.”
Don’t people understand that they are systematically imposing their wills on us and taking away our rights one by one….and at break-neck speed, too. Well, I am MAD as HELL…and am not gonna take it anymore!!!!
Must we reach the stage where we have to fill the streets as the Iranians did?
Why aren’t more of us that angry?
This energy bill was over 1300 pages long with approximately 300 pages added early the morning of the vote. Again, NO ONE there had a chance to read that bill in its entirety.
Have all who voted yes on this bill had a do-it-yourself lobotomy?
The moment of silence in congress, instead of being for a recently deceased popular celebrity, should have been for the American people, our way of life, and our Constitution…followed with a Requiem Mass.
List of Kansas Representatives who will be fired:
Democrat – Dennis Moore – YOU’RE FIRED!
These are Representatives that Kansas can count on to make the right decisions for Kansans:
Republican – Jerry Moran – THANK YOU to my Representative from my whole family (you hear from me regularly!)
Republican – Lynn Jenkins – THANK YOU from my husband and I, my children (5), grand children (15), and great-grandchildren (6)
Republican – Todd Tiahrt – THANK YOU also from my family as a whole.
Signed, Elaine S. (of Kansas)

A Letter from a Concerned Michigan Citizen about votes for the Cap and Trade Bill
Posted by: | CommentsI am not only mad, I am disappointed, I feel sick to my stomach, I want to cry, I really want to go to their houses and SCREAM at them. But since that is not

possible, I also promised them, just like you did, that I will do whatever it takes to get them FIRED.
I am from MI, the worst economic state in the country besides CA. Our unenmployement is at 14.3 percent, our auto companies are gov’t run, our governor wants to continue to raise taxes, even now, and now this.
How much can my state take and handle?
We cannot afford these additional high taxes.
This bill has nothing to do with energy, but is solely a way to tax ALL of us so that Obama can fund his Health bill.
Congressman Gary C. Peters, YOU’RE FIRED!
We called you!
We wrote to you!
We begged you!
But you didn’t listen!
Why, because you are a freshman congressman and feel the heat from Pelosi breathing down your neck.
You should be ashamed!
Congressman Vernon J. Ehlers, I COMMEND you for listening to your constituents. Even though I am not from your district, I watched you.
Congressman Heath Shuler, YOU’RE FIRED, too. You don’t deserve your position.
Signed, Erika F.

Congressman Tim Bishop, YOU’RE FIRED!
Posted by: | CommentsCongressman Tim Bishop (D – NY) YOU’RE FIRED!
You were very vocally admonished by your constituents at a Townhall Meeting on Monday, June 23 in Setauket to vote no on Cap & Trade because it would devastate the economy, but especially the farmers and fisherman you represent.

New York State Map
But, you chose, instead to listen to the Hedge Fund manager (also from Setauket) who funds your campaign. Is it a coincidence that he also funds Nancy Pelosi? His name is James H Simons and his hedge fund is highly secretive.
What about transparency Mr. Bishop?
What about my granddaughter?
Are you going to feed her?
Are you going to make sure her parents have jobs?
Are you going to take the debt off of her little back?
NO, you are going to make Mr. Simons an even wealthier man at my expense. At my granddaughter’s expense. You and your green initiative. The only thing green about it is the slimy people involved in using the planet as an excuse to pass a socialist agenda and take profit for themselves. Mr. Gore is a liar.
How much do you have invested in Kleiner Perkins, Mr. Bishop?
How much profit will you personally make to make us poor?
I wish I had someone from my state to thank today. Oh, but I do, Congressman Michael Arcuri (D-NY) voted against Cap & Trade – so THANK YOU to him.
Your Employer,
Lori

Michelle Obama: Please Keep Whining
Posted by: Andrea Mayer-Bruestle | Comments (2)Forbes Magazine‘s has announced that Michelle Obama tops their 100 Most Powerful Women list:
The role as First Lady of the United States doesn’t seem to be sitting well with Ms. Obama who apparently finds the job so difficult that The National Enquirer (which broke the news of John Edwards’ affair two years before the MSM touched the story) is reporting that the day after the First Family returned from vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, Ms. Obama could be heard screaming at her husband:
