“…and it should be possible to design a world in which behavior likely to be punished seldom or never occurs. We try to design such a world for those who cannot solve the problem of punishment for themselves, such as babies, retardates, or psychotics, and if it could be done for everyone, much time and energy would be saved.”

-Skinner, B.F. Beyond Freedom and Dignity pg. 62.

“Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute? They band together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.”

-Psalm 94:20-21, English Standard Version

The great difference between freedom as a positivist understands it and freedom as a naturalist understands is quite substantial. Positivists view freedom as “…a lack of resistance or restraint (56 Skinner, Beyond Freedom and Dignity),” and they try accordingly to erect great and substantial barriers to such a concept in the form of laws to… Read the rest

Perhaps nothing is so annoying to a statist than an individual who places himself in a position of superiority, as opposed to the ancillary function which most statists believe is the proper role of citizens. In the world of statists, citizens are to complement the state by conforming to its every demand, no matter how unreasonable or intrusive. Buckle your seat belt, go outside to smoke, and don’t drink a drop before you get behind the wheel of a car, ever. Be kind, rewind; don’t be a litterbug; say no to drugs; recycle and reuse. Though the state builds roads and bridges with your tax dollars, don’t you dare run the toll booth. And whatever you do, no matter how unpleasant or unprofessional the police are during a routine stop or a traffic violation, do not reciprocate their attitude with one of your own.

That last part is one that we can all identify with. I’ve always… Read the rest

A couple of nights I received a message from a guy named Jeremy Dodge who identified himself as a Youth Pastor who had been inspired to write a song about six months ago. He was proud to announce his having recently recorded the music video combo. (I think you will agree with me that the video just adds great character to an already fantastic song.) Just like with every other request, I loaded the video/song combo and began listening… and then listened again… and then listened to it a third time. I then sat back and said to myself, “This is exactly what I’ve been looking for to help reach our youth and let them know it’s alright to take pride in America.” I didn’t stop there. I called to my 14 yr. old son and had him watch it. After the song finished, I asked his thoughts and he said, “That song is cool, Dad.” (He must be a… Read the rest

Pamela Geller has been reporting since yesterday, June 12th, 2010, that Paypal has sent her a request to remove their buttons from her site or they will close her paypal account. As many of us already know, Geller has taken a hard line stance against the many issues relating to the Jihad attacks against America, Christianity, and Israel.

Pamela and Atlas Shrugs relies on Paypal contributions, by readers, to help pay for bus ads, rallies, and live coverage. She feels that Paypal has picked her out as spewing “Hate Speech” when they (Paypal) were permitting others to display Paypal buttons (which has since been removed) and continue to use their services for real inciters to violence, Jewish genocide, and Revolution Muslim on sites like http://www.revolutionmuslim.com/.  And then you have an ebay seller who is selling dvd’s of imamRead the rest

Today I had a twitter friend who identifies herself as, victoria_29, share with me one of the more impressive campaign ads I’ve seen in quite some time. The candidate is Rick Barber who is running for Congress in a GOP primary runoff in Alabama’s 2nd District July 13th. In the ad Mr. Barber meets with three very important people to discuss the evils of the progressive income tax and its intersection with health care. I’m betting you can figure out just who these people are as you watch the video below.

Note from the Editor: The 912 Project Fan Site has chosen to not endorse candidates. This is not to be misunderstood as an endorsement of any kind. I am reporting on this to acknowledge a powerful and quite impressive ad for my readers.

Part One: Statism and Myth

The state is the dominant mode of societal organization in our world today. States are proliferating at a rate of 3.1 additional states per year, with the U.N. growing from some 50 members in 1950 to to 191 members today (28, The Untied States of America Enriquez, Juan Crown 2005). Eventually, all states find themselves fracturing this way and that, as the myths which they employ to justify their existence no longer suffice or hold up under the scrutiny of independent minds. Despite the hopes of anarchists, the state continues to multiply at an alarming rate; moreover, despite the hopes of nationalists, the state continues to fragment at an staggering rate.

There are many causes for this, but none are more prominent or as easily identifiable as statism’s chief means of promoting or justifying its existence: the myth. The narrative is the most important tool available to states to promote their existence,… Read the rest
