Video: Restoring Honor Attendees are Kindest People in DC
Posted by: | CommentsWho were the attendees who came from all points of America to participate in the Restoring Honor rally? They were people of many races. They were people of many faiths. They WERE… the kindest and most well mannered people America has to offer.
I have talked to many people who attended Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally in Washington, D.C. on 8/28 of 2010 and heard story after story about the compliments they received from workers around the D.C. metro area. They have told me stories about how clean everyone left the grounds. They talked about seeing people reach down and pick up a small piece of paper, maybe a gum wrapper, as the crowd was leaving in everyone’s attempt to leave the grounds as clean, if not cleaner, than they had found it before the crowd came in.
They were complimented time and time again with words like, “we just love it when you people come to town because you are such nice people.” Even with many of the subway escalators being shut down, my friends saw person after person helping the determined elderly folks walk up the stairs from the subways. The city was not only overwhelmed with people from across America, but the city was overwhelmed with love, inspiration, and kindness like the DC seldom sees. And then there are the many other stories that are being heard on Glenn Beck’s Radio and FOX News programs. Like the one of a white family helping a handicapped black woman around for the entire day as both attended Restoring Honor. The story about a ladies husband who had lost his wallet with their conversation being overheard by another family who so generously gave them $400 to make sure they would be alright only to later to be contacted by the police that someone had found their wallet. To their surprise the wallet had all the cash and credit cards still in it.
I could continue with telling you about the people who attend other events, but I am going to leave this article as one of positive content because I want this to be a time of moving forward and reaching out to those who have lost their feelings of love and kindness for whatever reason.
Below is a segment from Glenn Beck’s FOX News program which aired 8-31-2010 that tells of just some of the many acts of kindness found before, during, and after the Restoring Honor rally.
The Parable Of The Talents Revisited — A Fractured Fairy Tale
Posted by: | CommentsThis Fairy Tale was provided by: Dennis Thurman
There was a President, who newly elected, took a long journey from Chicago to Washington, D.C. He called his fellow Americans to tune in to his State of the Union speech that he might speak of all the bounty with which they had been blessed, but had squandered during the previous administration, through lack of government regulation and programs.
One citizen was a white collar owner of a small family business, another was a blue collar worker trying to meet his family’s needs, and yet another, though poor, was healthy and blessed with the opportunity to make something of his life.
The small businessman invested wisely, worked diligently and became the owner of a Fortune 500 company.
The blue-collar worker scrimped and saved and worked overtime in order to start his own business.
The other man frittered away his opportunity and decided that society was mistreating him, the rich were taking advantage of him and government owed him a living, so he sat around and did nothing—except when he wanted to party, which he always seemed to have time and money to do.
After many days and several trips to the golf course, the President had a press conference from the Oval Office.
He chided the man who had become successful in building a large corporation as being greedy and unconcerned for the poor—not giving his fair share to the government. “I will place you in a higher tax bracket until we bring you to the level of the poor man,” said the all-wise, all-caring President.
Likewise, he scolded the middle class worker who had struggled so long to begin his own little business, for he too had so much more than the poor man and was self-centered according to the President—not giving his fair share to the government, either. “I will raise your taxes also (though not as high as the wealthy man) until we bring you to the level of the poor man,” said the all-wise, all-caring President.
Turning to the poor man, the compassionate President heard him say, “Life has been unfair to me. My welfare check doesn’t go as far as it used to. Gas prices from greedy oil companies make it expensive to fill up my Mercedes. It is hard to make ends meet when big screen TV’s and cable bills are so expensive, not to mention the cost of liquor. I worked for a rich man for a few days and he expected me to be on time and work hard and it was just more than my nervous condition could bear. If I have to work, a government job would be much better.”
To the man who wasted his days in lethargy and his nights with lotteries, liquor and ladies, the President said, “Life has indeed been unfair to you. The educational system has failed you. Greedy corporations have taken advantage of you. Society owes you, but has neglected you. Even if you had a government job, the wealthy bankers where you deposit your money would take it and stuff their own pockets with profits. We will take from the rich and the middle class and give it to you, so there may truly be equality in America at last. We will also remember the plight of the poor in oppressed nations around the world and do all we can to destroy the businesses of America so we can become a third-world country also. At the end of the day, it’s all about equality.” Thus spoke the all-wise, all-caring President as he flawlessly read his teleprompter before the fawning media.
“For to everyone who has, more will be taken, and he will have little; but from him who produces little, we will give a little more,” thus said the all-wise, all-caring President as he departed for another vacation.
“And put the profitable citizen into prison. I’m sure he is abusing the system.”
Then across the once-fruited plain, there was weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.

DISCLAIMER:
The views expressed are those of Dennis Thurman and are not intended to represent the opinions and viewpoints of Pole Creek Baptist Church. Neither should these be construed as a benediction on the rich and condemnation of the poor. There are greedy rich people and honorable poor people. Some of God’s special saints live on meager funds—disabled, disadvantaged—doubtless the case. Others may prosper materially and be bankrupt morally and spiritually. Also, there is not disrespect intended for the office of the Presidency which God has commanded Christians to honor and obey, as well as pray for—which I have done this morning already. What is intended is to show how this parable of Christ has been turned on its head by the current administration.
Where is America’s Hero?
Posted by: | CommentsAmerica needs a hero like never before. Congressional members are retiring in droves, young and old alike. Was it too much to ask that you do the job that you were sent to Washington DC for, while listening to your constituents’ input? Last summer displayed an overpaid pack of cowards in Congress, and now not only are they ducking constituents, they are ducking out permanently. What do you know, that you won’t tell? You were supposed to be the best of your respective state to represent “We the People”… instead you collected a healthy paycheck, pork and bribes, party and privileges and now expect a hefty (let’s see if we can eliminate this waste of money) retirement once again upon the backs of the taxpayers.
A little over a year ago, I asked for one stalwart Read More→
America to Have Two Epicenters for Terrorism?
Posted by: | CommentsThe latest news to cater to the needs of known terrorists has been nothing but disturbing to American citizens while creating new epicenters for the possibilities of renewed Terrorism activities.
The announcement by Attorney General Eric Holder to hold civilian trials, for 9/11 mastermind and his henchmen, in New York City has come as a shock most common sense Americans. Guantanamo Bay has been their home sense their capture and should be their place for a military trial. Yet, for some reason many government officials (mostly those of the liberal persuasion) feel this overwhelming urge to bring them to the United States to provide these known terrorists with same Rights enjoyed by U.S. Citizens and provided by a Constitution that has come under heavy attack by these same government officials.
If that issue wasn’t bad enough, the Obama Administration is now looking at bringing all remaining Guantanamo Bay detainees to a prison facility in Illinois to provide all of them with the rights provided by our U.S. Constitution. I have to question the intentions and the timing for these ridiculous intentions and whether it is intended to provide a much needed distraction for the administration’s push for nationalized health care and the other attack on America’s freedoms, the highly unpopular Cap and Trade (nicknamed: Cap and Tax).
Why do I find both of these ideas so disturbing?
The American people have many logical reasons for not wanting these terrorists to be brought to our shores. With so many common sense reasons, I will only name a couple of these at this time. The biggest reason I see has to be that these individuals do NOT deserve to receive our Constitutional Rights. These Rights were intended for U.S. Citizens and not for those attacking our country. The next reason has to be the most obvious and that is the security threats that the trial and prison will present to America. To hold such a high level trial in the very city hit by the 9/11 attacks will open the area up to be a terrorist epicenter throughout the period of the trials. If they were truly set on holding these trials on American shores, it would be much smarter to hold the trials in an area with a small population so newcomers to the area could be easily identified. I might even add that it would even be far less costly for America to hold such trials in an area with a smaller population. It has become apparent that the abilities to make common sense decisions seems to be something that many government officials are completely incapable of anymore.
It is my belief that the individuals making these horrific decisions, should be held accountable for any problems created by their choices to bring terrorists to America. To add to this, it is also my belief that if anything should happen, the very government officials involved in these decisions should be held 100% liable for their illogical choices to provide aid to these terrorists.
Religious Disorder in the United States – One Stands Very Alone
Posted by: | CommentsOver 200 years ago the United States of America was fought for and founded by bold leadership. It was formed as a republic. It was not founded upon religious principles but with religious freedom. It’s not going to change. In the United State we separate Church and State so that one does not interfere with the other.
The Native Americans, immigrants, descendants of the earliest arrivals to this country over 200 years ago, took a roaming, untapped country (through wars, peace, prosperity and squalor) and built a nation. There were many Nationalities that came together with their differences to produce a thoroughbred country. I understand pride in heritage and also of religion but as of lately, there is a religious disorder that is creeping into everyday American life, causing needless deaths, and creating a heightened awareness of it’s presence (Closing in on a deteriorating negative connotation).
Everyone (when permitted by immigration regulations) able to enter the United States legally, has met some initial difficulties with the English language, embracing American customs, and emulating the America lifestyle. America is the greatest “melting pot” of cultures in the world, but some are not even trying. In fact, practicing members and converts to this one religion, appear to be religiously trained, to kill at will their fellow man. They are taking their religious convictions and initiating religious executions upon the state.
You came here for a reason as an immigrant or you took up your religion because you wanted to bring more faith into your life. However, you were given no authority to disrupt the freedom of all other citizens in these United States of America by using your religion as an excuse to commit mayhem and murder like a judge, jury, and executioner. These acts are acts of Terrorism.

Restoring Honor in the Realm of Dumbledore
Posted by: Andrea Mayer-Bruestle | Comments (0)The Harry Potter
series may have been written for children, but much of the heart of the books ring true to adults today.
Professor Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)
, JK Rowling, pgs. 723-724
If Glenn Beck were to use this speech at his “8/28 Restoring Honor Rally” on Saturday, it might go something like this:
Dumbledore’s words ring true to those of us who love America, who desire to see her back on track with the Constitution. What happens in Hogwarts School in Book 5 (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5)
) is prophetic – on a smaller scale, obviously – of what we are potentially facing as a country if the current leaders are allowed to continue to take us on the path they’ve set forth upon.
Our current leaders crave a crisis. They crave dissonance. They want us to be battling over a mosque that doesn’t even have enough funding to begin building next year because it takes the focus off of what they are doing to our country. Our current leaders want us to find reasons to be distrustful of one another because that forces us to trust them or to become oblivious to what they are doing, and the essence of what the leaders are doing is spreading evil.
The evil that is being encouraged and exploited by our leaders is the evil of ENVY. Envy is the worst of the Seven Deadly Sins for a reason: all of the other sins originate with ENVY. Lucifer’s fall hinged upon his desire to be like GOD – he was envious of God’s power and wanted it. He was cast out of heaven for that sin. Our current administration plays upon this deadly sin by trying to limit how much people can earn; by trying to “spread the wealth”; by stealing from hard-working people to give their wealth to those who don’t work as hard. Why? Because they are playing the politics of envy.
When we are envious of what others have, we are coveting their belongings and breaking one of the Ten Commandments; simultaneously, we are also playing directly into the hands of the administration who tell us that we don’t have to work as hard as someone else, that the government will take care of us, if only we let them. We are allowing our envy, our desires, our coveting to override our freedoms. By breaking God’s commandments, we are allowing ourselves to be punished and that punishment comes in the form of the blessing of FREEDOM being removed, bit-by-bit, from our lives. While we are distracted by what we don’t have but what we want to have, we allow our government to continue to play upon the basest nature of mankind. We are so busy hating those who have, that we don’t see what precious things are being taken away from us.
We need to heed Dumbledore’s advice. We need to listen to Glenn Beck. We need to come together as AMERICANS – not as Republicans or Tea Partiers or Democrats – and fight the insidious evil that is spreading across our land. We need to teach our children to be self-sufficient; to do for themselves – that urge that takes over every two-year-old child to say “ME DO IT!” when they refuse to let you dress them – we need to raise our children to see what they want and think “Me do it!” – that they can work for what they want instead of coveting what others have and allowing the government to take care of them.
Listen to Dumbledore
. We are coming upon dark and dangerous times. What choice will you make? Will you choose what is right or what is easy?
